Die Blätter des Farns krausten sich starr, als hätten sie sich innerlich verbrannt. Sie hatte ihn einige Tage vernachlässigt und versuchte umso energischer die Schädlinge zu bekämpfen; bespritze sie mit Wasser, mit Essig, mit Seife, mit Öl, schliesslich mit Trauermückenstopp. Mit jedem Versuch, die Mücken zu vertreiben, fügte sie dem Farn mehr Schaden zu. Irgendwann liessen die Mücken die blauen Tupfen, die sie an dem Farn so mochte, unter sich verschwinden. Sie waren überall.

Aglaia Brändli (*1993 in Lachen, CH) currently studying Contemporary Arts Practice in Bern, studied fine arts, political science and comparative literature in Zurich. From analogue photography of deserted places, dunes and water and subsequent digital processing of the images in the hope that they will somehow align with the experienced space, to filming and stalking the same houses in urban spaces in order to subsequently edit the videos together and claim the buildings for herself; the starting points of her practice are predominantly her own sensations in the face of the built and natural environment and the question of the relationship of different physical and abstract spaces to each other and to the perceiving subject. In the constant need for reconciliation, changing memories of places or periods of time and concrete snapshots often get in the way and lead to a constantly renewed confrontation with an ever-expanding archive of images.
